Scout

Grab the model, then move its files into cstrike/models and agree to the replacement when Windows prompts you. The Scout relies on v_ (first-person), p_ (in the player's hands) and w_ (on the ground) model files, so the downloaded files need to carry exactly the same names as the originals. Back up the original files before you swap them out, then restart the game.

Weapon models belong in cstrike/models, custom weapon sounds in cstrike/sound/weapons, and crosshair or laser sprites in cstrike/sprites. Should your game use a localized folder like cstrike_russian, files placed there win over the same files in cstrike. Preserve the original subfolder layout when you copy sounds and sprites.

No switch exists to activate a Scout skin - it functions by swapping out the standard Scout model files. When the file names match the originals, the new model shows up on its own the next time you launch the game or switch the map. If nothing happens, the names or paths are incorrect.

• Make sure the files sit in cstrike/models and their names match the original Scout files exactly.
• Look in cstrike_russian - files there take priority over cstrike.
• Put your backup back and test once more to find out whether the model itself is at fault.
• Restart the game or switch the map so the model reloads.

Move your backup of the original Scout model files back into cstrike/models, or remove the custom files and verify the game files through Steam so the originals come back. If you skipped making a backup, reinstalling the game files is the dependable route to restoring the default Scout.

On a listen server of your own or a server without consistency checks, a custom Scout model behaves as usual. On public servers, weapon models exist only on the client side: the server might swap them for its own files or kick you over a file mismatch (consistency). Custom sounds and sprites can be hit the same way.

Crosshair and laser sight parts are sprites, so their files belong in cstrike/sprites. Back up the original sprite files first, then drop the new ones in and restart the game. If the sprite fails to show, confirm its file name matches the one the model calls for.
